Whenever I reminisce about college (which I do often, #gloryyears), I love to talk about the really cool outfits that I wore. It’s crazy that those four years are far enough in the past that I now cringe over some of the styles. But, I graduated from a school in the mountains of PA and since the temperature rarely made it above freezing, some creativity was required to remain stylish.
Because of the weather, one tried and true staple was a good pair of winter boots. These tall, fur-lined boots were very in fashion during my college years, circa 2007 (who out there remembers?). I can’t tell you how much I wore them with leg warmers (yep, you read that right), a jean skirt and of course, Hollister hoodie. Saturday night drinking at a friends house? Trying to impress that cute boy in my Comm Law class? Yep, this was my go-to ensemble.
Fast forward ten years later (wow, that was hard to type) and I found a pair of these winter boots on major sale during Black Friday. The deal was so good that I decided to purchase at least for novelty. Maybe, I’d even wear them during the one time a year that it snows in North Carolina. In reality friends, I’ve already gotten my $38 worth. And then some!
Thanks to the cyclone bomb of late, my new boots have become quite the necessity. Not only were they my savior during a snow-filled trip home for the holidays, but their comfort has me addicted, again. It’s hard for me to want to wear anything else nowadays, which makes me determined to bring back these favorite winter boots. In an attempt to do so, I even styled an updated version of my college uniform. And surprisingly, wearing these boots with a cute denim skirt still make me feel pretty cute!
