I hope you guys aren’t sick of me sharing velvet pieces, because I can’t help but show off this amazing velvet jumpsuit. I especially love it for this season because a cute velvet jumpsuit makes for a great holiday party outfit. Not to mention, it’s so comfortable! For this ensemble, I decided to layer it with a black lace top that I’ve had for years. I also love pairing my velvet jumpsuit with a festive blazer, like this one.
In my last post, I shared one possible New Years Eve outfit, but my new velvet jumpsuit may be another contender! Regardless, I’m definitely packing it for my trip home for Christmas.
Since I’ve decided to take some time off, this will be my last post of 2017. Because of this, I thought it would be an appropriate time to reflect on this past year.
I’ve made a lot of great memories in 2017. I was a bridesmaid in the weddings of my two best friends and traveled to Savannah and Charleston for their bachelorette parties. I loved exploring more of the South and it ultimately made me feel more at home in NC. Also, my family and I spent a week in Oak Island on our first family vacation in 15 years (read more about our trip here). Since they live in Pittsburgh, it was truly amazing to spend so much time with them. I also celebrated one year with my boyfriend, Joe, which is now the longest relationship I’ve been in (not sure what that says about me…I’m picky?). I loved making new memories with him this year and I can’t wait to create very many more in 2018.
The one thing that I’ll always remember about 2017 is how much I worked. And, not necessarily in a bad way. I opened up in my October Monthly Moments about working two jobs this past year. Although it was exhausting to be constantly working, I learned a lot about myself. The biggest lesson being that I can really take care of myself. Living on my own, I’ve definitely experienced hard times. And although I knew that a call to my parents would solve any financial problem, I really wanted to support myself. Getting through this year on my own really made me feel like I can handle anything. And it’s this attitude that I’m pretty will make a great 2018. I’m definitely looking forward to what the New Year will bring!
I’m signing off until next year, but you can still follow my life on Instagram @CourtneyFashionista. I’ll also be taking the downtime to make some fun updates to Courtney Fashionista, so be sure to follow up with me after the New Year. Wishing you all the happiest of holidays!
