Happy Friday friends! As much as I love sharing outfit ideas, I also enjoy writing about my personal experiences. This has inspired me to start a new series, “Monthly Moments.” On the last Friday of each month, I’ll be recapping what’s going on in the life of yours truly. Hopefully, this will also help you get to know me a little better!
So here goes my first Monthly Moments post – September 2017!
Although in hindsight this month seemed to fly by, I feel like it was still a pretty eventful one. At the beginning of the month, I went to Charleston for the first time, which was such a great trip (and tried improving my photography skills, as you can see in these snaps!). I also got a new side hustle as a freelance blogger, which I’m pretty excited about. (You can read about my trip and new gig here)
But this month also proved to be a bit challenging. I learned the very difficult lesson that relationships are hard and do take work. I think that the reason I’m just learning this at 29, is that I’ve never had someone who was willing to put the work in with me. I’ve been in several relationships where the other bailed when the honey moon phase was over. Many of the guys I dated didn’t have the maturity to deal with real issues or differences. Of course, I don’t want this post to appear as an attempt to air my dirty laundry, but I think it’s an important lesson to share. People nowadays only want to portray perfection, but I want to be as authentic as possible in the blogosphere and real life.
Anyway, I’m glad that we and got through this little rough patch, because next month my boyfriend and I will celebrate our one year anniversary. Our first date was to the NC State fair so in true cheesy fashion, that’s how we’ll celebrate it. I’m also kind of hoping that he’ll take me to Seasons 52 and allow me to order 5 or 6 of those mini desserts with no judgement.
Lastly, and most excitingly, I can finally announce that I’m going to be an aunt again! My oldest sister is expecting at the end of March and I can’t wait to welcome a new little nugget into our family.
To be honest, I didn’t want to accept the fact that summer is over, but there’s so much I have to look forward to this fall and already next year. Can’t wait to see what good stuff October will bring!
