As always, I wanted to share some cute and simple gingham style for Summer 2017 in this post, but I also wanted to include some fun facts about yours truly. I recently realized that I’ve been writing this blog for over 3 years, but have never really had a post about, well…me. Sure, I talk about my taste in style and personal experiences, but I’m not sure how well you guys know me beyond the blog. It may surprise you that I’m not just a cat lady from Pittsburgh who enjoys getting dressed. I’m also very family-oriented, athletic and and terrified of band-aids. Keep reading for 5 fun and random facts about me :).
I am one of four girls
I’ve recently mentioned my family when discussing my vacation, but I’m not sure if I’ve ever gotten into specifics. I’m the third of four girls and my sisters are truly my best friends. Actually, so are my parents. I never get annoyed by my parents, although I probably can’t say the same for them about me (I call a lot). My sisters and I like to do really cool things together like order Chinese, go to Walgreens and watch The Kardashians. By far, the most difficult thing about living in Raleigh, is being 500 miles from my family. It’s safe to say, we FaceTime a lot!
I was voted, “Most Likely to Become a Movie Star,” in High School
I grew up taking acting classes and originally went to college to study theatre (but later changed to PR). Although I never made my mark in Hollywood (or even visited there), I still love a good musical. I also tend to get very emotional while watching them, even if it’s not sad. I’ll even admit to bawling during the opening number of The Lion King.
I’m afraid of…everything
For some reason, the older I get, the more scared I become of honestly, everything. I have the typical fears of flying and fires (I triple check that my curling iron is off), but my weirdest phobia is that of band-aids. Ew, I hate even typing that word. Anyway, it all started when I was a carefree 7 year-old swimming in a public pool when one brushed up against me and got stuck on my arm. Yuck! I still get sick thinking about it. This is also the reason I do not swim in public pools.
I am the definition of a Type-A person
I’m someone who has to have everything neat and organized, to the point of annoyance (even for me). It makes me anxious to have anything out of place in my apartment, even if no one is visiting. I’m also a freak about being on time and am always early for everything. My biggest pet peeve is tardiness, which is my boyfriend’s one and only flaw that I’ve been trying to accept for the past 9 months (told you I’m a freak!). Also, my pajamas always have to match, again, even if I’m the only one who will see them. I’m not sure if that fits in the Type A category, but it’s definitely a strange little quirk!
I was a tomboy until I was 12
When I was younger, I was a huge tomboy. In hindsight, this phase was probably me trying to set myself apart from my three sisters. Anyway, I hated wearing pink, bows or ruffles, but was all about a Nike track pant and my Green Bay Packers starter jacket (I loved Brett Favre). I played basketball, which I wasn’t very good at, and softball, which was my jam! I played on a traveling team until I graduated high school and those are still my favorite childhood memories. I still love getting out my glove to playing catch and going to watch baseball games.
PS – I’m now on Poshmark! If you love my clothes from CF, now is a chance to snag a few for yourself! I’ve just added a ton of items from my personal closet to my Poshmark one! Check it out, here!
