Lately, I’ve been doing so much shopping for new summer clothes, that it’s been hard for me to share all of my recent purchases in outfit posts on the blog. Since it can be much simpler sometimes to share via social media, I wanted to recap some recent snaps that I’ve posted via Instagram to show a few of my new favorite pieces for the season.
Next weekend, I’ll be meeting my family in Southport, NC (where Safe Haven was filmed) for a weekend-long vacation. We haven’t all vacationed together (I’m from a family of 6) in about fifteen years, so to say that I’m excited is an understatement. I started shopping for this trip months ago, and above is a picture of some of my newly purchased beach necessities.
I got this cold-shoulder top about a week ago and have already worn it for both work and weekend. I wore this particular outfit to brunch last Saturday with two of my local blogger friends. I love how perfectly it pairs with a simple pair of denim shorts and my new, favorite accessories. I’ve honestly been wearing these white tassel earrings and choker with everything lately.
I’ve never been one to feel ultra pretty in pink, but I couldn’t pass up this bright, lace number while shopping at a local NC boutique, Paisley. This one is available in stores, but they have a gorgeous lace romper that you can check out here, that I’m dying to add to my closet. Since I tend to go a little dress-crazy during the summer, I’m working on adding some more cute tops to my wardrobe.
Obviously, this top was a must for vaca. My two older sisters and I all got it to match (yes, we will be that family!). We’re still trying to convince my baby sister to wear one too, but she’s 20 and sometimes, “too cool,” for us! Also, these shorts were an obvious choice since I’ve been way too obsessed with palm print this season (as you can tell here and here).
This dress seriously had me at hello. I tend to quickly fall in love with, “the little black dress,” and love how this one was adorned with a bright and colorful print to make it, “summer-ready.” I wore it to dinner with my boyfriend the same day I bought it and made him snap a pic before we left so I could brag about it ASAP. I couldn’t believe it when Target commented on my Instagram post and asked if they could feature this picture on their site. You can view my little 15 mins. of (faux) fame here (be sure to scroll down)!
Of course, there will be much more outfit inspiration where this came from! I have some really cute looks planned to share on the blog next week, but in the meantime, you can always follow along via Instagram for my daily posts. I’ve also been pretty snap-happy with InstaStories!
