I’m a person who likes to invest in quality products, but also someone who believes that it’s possible to get a lot for less (and I try to as much as I can). I don’t discriminate against the sale rack and I certainly don’t when it comes to the Target or Walgreens makeup aisle. It’s here where I began my discovery into the beauty world, about the time The Spice Girls came to be, and where I still find myself when looking for affordable products. Surprisingly, my vanity contains about half of drugstore beauty items, many of which I prefer over the designer ones I’ve tried. I always love to share my current beauty favorites, but may be a little biased toward this post, since many of my drugstore beauty favorites are ones that I’ve been using for years.
Dove Dry Shampoo – In a recent beauty post, I raved about Living Proof’s dry shampoo (which I do love), however, I wanted to find something a little more budget-friendly. I grabbed a bottle of Dove’s Dry Shampoo when I saw it one sale for $4 (!!!) at Target and was beyond impressed! I’d even go as far as saying that the quality is on par with that of Living Proof’s. I know that everyone’s hair is different, but for the price, it’s definitely worth a try!
COVERGIRL LashBlast Mascara – This is one drug store beauty favorite that I refuse to part with. I’ve tried high-end brands, but always come back to COVERGIRL’s LashBlast mascara. It goes on great, never clumps and easily comes off with makeup remover. Any time I get complimented about the length of my lashes, I get so excited to say it’s my $8 mascara!
Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion (Body & Face) – I received a sample of this Cetaphyl Moisturizing Lotion and loved it so much that it immediately became apart of my skin care routine. I use it every morning on my face and love how well it hydrates my skin without making it oily. When it comes to face lotions I also prefer simple, fragrant-free products like this one!
Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen – This is another favorite that I’m very loyal to. When doing a full face of makeup, my top lid is always lined using my Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen (in Blackest Black). This liner’s angled pen shape allows for easy application and lasts from day-to-night, seldom ever needing a touch up!
COVERGIRL Katy Kat Matte Lipstick – A few months ago, I worked with COVERGIRL on a campaign to launch this Katy Kat Matte Lipstick and still continually use it. My favorite thing about this lipstick is that it keeps my lips hydrated, so no need for Chapstick (which I’m basically addicted to), while wearing it. I like to try and use many lip colors, but always go back to this one, especially for every day use. This honestly could be the best $6 I spend on makeup! (In the above picture I’m wearing, “Cat Call Miau-Minet”)
COVERGIRL Clean Pressed Powder – A COVERGIRL compact has been in my makeup bag since the 8th grade (no exaggeration). It’s been hard for me to stray from this COVERGIRL Clean Pressed Powder because it has such great coverage, but is so lightweight. It really does give my skin a fresh, clean look, even when covering up bad breakouts. (I use, “Classic Beige)
