Last week, I kicked off the holiday season perfectly, with a little get together with some of my favorite blogger friends! The five of us had the best time exchanging gifts, snacking on our favorite holiday treats and of course, indulging in some serious girl talk. It could have just been the Moscow Mule (or two) that I effortlessly consumed, but I went home super happy and in full holiday spirits!
Be sure to check out their blogs too! They all have awesome style and I love keeping up with their posts!
We each brought our favorite gifts to exchange for a fun little grab bag. I wrapped up an adorable, polka dot Kate Spade Thermos as my gift. It’s cute, practical and perfect for containing your coffee or cocoa!
PS – Be sure to read this full post because something exciting is going on at the end! (hint: it could involve a giveaway!!!)
Of course, what’s a party without some sips and treats! The five of us brought and shared our favorite holiday recipes, which we enjoyed while telling hilarious dating mishaps! Luckily, the girls also gave this single woman some great dating advice, which in hindsight, I wish I recorded to share for a future post! (definitely next time!)
I’m a bit obsessed with Moscow Mules, so it was an obvious choice for me to bring to our holiday party. I found this recipe for the drink, which has a fun holiday twist, via Pinterest. Of course, sipping a Moscow Mule from a copper mug is the only way to do it and I found these ones at Target for only $10 each!
Holiday Moscow Mules – combine below ingredients for 1 serving
- 2 ounces gin or vodka (I used gin)
- 4-6 ounces ginger beer
- 2 ounces cranberry juice
- Splash of lime juice
- Frozen cranberries
These Caprese Skewers are a staple in my office potluck rotation and with their red and green color combo, another obvious menu choice for the party. They’re super easy to make, just combine mozzarella cheese, basil and cherry tomatoes with a toothpick, sprinkle with balsamic glaze and voila!, you have yourself a healthy, festive holiday snack!
Now, let’s chat about my favorite topic, what I wore! I bought this sweater two years ago (remember this post? #throwback) and let’s just say I’ve more than got my money’s worth, even though it’s only appropriate to wear for one month out of the year. Of course, it’s the perfect option for a holiday gathering and I also like to throw it on for work and Christmas Eve festivities.
