I’m excited for this post, my part two, of holiday outfit ideas with a local favorite of mine, Peachy Keen. I mentioned in my last post that most holiday gatherings to hit my calendar are casual events, however, one consistent occasion that calls for a bit more flair is my work’s annual holiday party. It’s always held at a nice venue with great food and something that I look forward to every year. Since it’s an evening event, I always stick with darker colors and this LBD from Peachy Keen is beyond perfect for the occasion (or any semi-formal shindig you have coming up!).
I wish I could eloquently and accurately describe the feeling this dress gives me, but let’s just say wearing it makes me feel beautiful. And although fashion is my passion, that’s actually quite difficult for a garment to accomplish (I’m a bit more self-conscious than I like to admit). The pleated waist and bodice allow for a flattering fit and a pocket detail that doesn’t draw attention to my curves. The dress material is light and comfortable, but also sophisticated, as a little black dress should be. As soon as I tried it on I knew that it was a piece I’d be able to wear for many years before eventually packing away for my future daughter (or more realistically, my niece) to enjoy.
Now, let’s talk about this kimono (insert eye-heart emoji here). As some of you may know from last week’s post, I’m currently banning myself from buying anything with a striped print, which is currently NBD because this polka dot kimono has totally stolen my heart. I must have started straying from this adorable print once I hit 25, but the pattern and black/gold color combo is totally chic and all ages appropriate. It also adds just the right amount of holiday cheer to my ensemble.
Let’s hope that this year I get a few more opportunities to wear this outfit before the holiday season is over. Now accepting any and all invitations to fancy Yuletide affairs!
