This morning I woke up, threw on a pair of shorts, walked outside and was struck by something I haven’t felt in months – a chill. After endless months of intense NC heat, this was certainly a welcome change, but then I immediately felt homesick.
I recently had this conversation with my friend, Sammie, about how Fall makes you feel super nostalgic. This morning, instead of looking forward to my weekly Dunkin’ Donuts splurge, I desperately wished I was back in Pittsburgh with my family prepping for a Sunday watching football (and I’m not even a football fan). Then, I thought about college. It’s this time of year I’d be focusing on finishing the homecoming float or designing my sorority’s ALF shirt (it’s a Clarion thing). Or when I was in high school and my friends and I would meet up with cute boys at haunted houses, rocking our latest Hollister hoodies, of course. My five minute drive was filled with mixed emotions and all I wanted were some damn Munchkins!
Obviously, it will take a lot more than some nostalgia and what appears to be an early-onset mid-life crisis to kill my Fall vibes. The season is just getting started and I’m determined to create an obnoxious amount of fond memories to feed the nostalgia beast. And, most importantly, there’s so many more great outfits to be worn!
