As previously mentioned, I’ve become a bit obsessed with my skin care routine lately. This mentality has only worsened since finding a wrinkle, yes wrinkle on my forehead (most likely the result of age + having an extremely expressive face, damn it!). Anyway, I’ve been reading a lot about the fancy people of Europe using cleansing balms to better clean their skin and decided to incorporate this one from Colleen Rothschild into my nightly routine.
Prior to discovering this cleansing balm, my nightly skin care routine consisted of: removing my makeup with a makeup remover, washing my face, applying astringent to remove excess dirt and lastly, lathering my skin with a face lotion. My biggest concern was that my skin still wasn’t getting properly moisturized, especially since the astringent tended to dry it out. This cleansing balm has not only improved my skin’s hydration, but also eliminated three steps in my nightly skin care routine.
The purpose of a cleansing balm is to thoroughly dissolve eye and face makeup, so no need for a makeup remover. Before using my face wash, I massaged Colleen Rothschild‘s Radiant Cleansing Balm into my skin, then wiped the balm off with a muslin cloth. The Cleansing Balm also helps clear congested pores (my enemy!) and fully hydrate my skin, leaving it as soft as ever! Now my nightly routine only requires this Cleansing Balm + Face wash and it is still getting the best clean possible. You can also use it to give yourself a mini facial by placing a warm muslin cloth over your face for about 10 minutes – so relaxing!
I’m also in love, love, LOVE with the Colleen Rothschild Extreme Recovery Cream. I swear, no moisturizer has left my face feeling better hydrated than this cream. I would typically apply moisturizer before bed and again in the morning but now, once a day is all I need! Since I’m applying less lotion, my face feels less oily throughout the day, which is a win for everyone! Oh, and most importantly, the cream helps fight signs of fine lines and wrinkles so, it’s pretty much my new best friend.
