I’m back from NYC and dying to share all the fun Camellia, Kat and I had while visiting The Big Apple! Our three-day getaway was packed with lots of fun, food, fashion and, to be honest, getting lost on the subway. Here’s a little recap of our amazing girl’s trip!
Our first stop in NYC was the Fashion District (duh!). We’re all Project Runway fans, so stopping at Mood was a must. Kat is a fashion designer, so she was very much in her glory at the fabric shop. We also spent the afternoon exploring Time Square, where we stayed during the trip. Our first day in NYC was also my 28th birthday, which we celebrated with the most amazing dinner at Sushi Samba in the Village (seriously, ALL the heart emojis).
The next day, we spent in Brooklyn where Camellia was walking for Gamakache Black in the Raw Futures fashion show. It was the highlight of the trip to see one of my best friends participating in Fashion Week and we were so proud to see her on that runway! While Camellia was in hair and makeup for the show, Kat and I spent the day visiting the Brooklyn Bridge, eating pizza at Grimaldi’s and shopping along Fulton Street.
We definitely made our last day in New York City count! We had lunch at Ellen’s Stardust Diner on Broadway and I totally geeked out as the servers sang songs from, Footloose, Phantom of the Opera and Aladdin (I really wish I had musical talent so I could work there!). After lunch, we crossed off the first item on our New York City Bucket List, go to the top of the Empire State Building. The view was totally worth the mini panic attack I had while riding the elevator up 86 floors. Our last stop was at the Macy’s on 34th Street, where I again had a mini panic attack as we shopped 11 floors of my favorite store! Next time, I’m spending half my time and salary in this store!
Until next time New York! We love ya!
