To say that I love fashion magazines is an understatement. I squeal with excitement at the mailbox when a Vogue is received and get butterflies in my stomach while reading Harper’s Bazaar. To me, nothing beats the beauty of the smooth, glossy pages adorned with couture and supermodels.
I was explaining this admiration to my friend, Sammie, who had the brilliant idea of combining my favorite advertisements and editorials into a Coffee Table Book for my, well, coffee table! This weekend, Sammie and I planned the perfect Girl’s Night of food, wine and Coffee Table Book creating! I’m obsessed with my book and couldn’t wait to post about our fun project so that you fellow fashion lovers can make your own too!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 8.5 x 11 or Scrapbook (size of regular printer paper), 12 x 9 also works well
- Additional scrapbook pages (optional)
This DIY Coffee Table Book project requires very little instruction. Simply pick your favorite magazine pages and place into the clear inserts of a scrapbook. You will most likely need to trim the page for an accurate fit. I used the blank paper included with the inserts as a size reference and a ruler for measurement.
Another bonus of this DIY project is that it is super affordable! Most Fashion Coffee Table Books cost between $80-$100. I bought this scrapbook for about $20 and the additional pages for $5, which were the only expenses of this project.
Helpful Tip: To prevent damaging the picture, use your scissors to cut along the binding of the back side of the page. (shown above)
Here’s the front side of my selected page in perfect condition! (Don’t you love Miranda Kerr?)
I decided to keep the cover of my book simple by having Sammie write (in her oh-so neat script) the purpose of my Coffee Table Book, “Inspiration”. I know it will be something that my guests will enjoy viewing when they come to visit me and Cleo. I myself have been flipping through it repeatedly to see the fashion and style I love so much!
